2015-16 Wrestling Awards Announed

Army and Navy Academy Varsity WrestlingThe Academy is very pleased to announce those Cadets who have earned awards for their outstanding performance on the 2015-16 Warrior wrestling team.

Recognized Athletes Include:

  • Adam Armbruster – Armbruster received the Most Improved Award, given to the wrestler who has improved tremendously throughout the season. It recognizes his hard work and commitment to self-improvement and the sport.
  • Alieu Corr – Corr received the Most Improved Award, given to the wrestler who has improved tremendously throughout the season. It recognizes his hard work and commitment to self-improvement and the sport.
  • Alex DeGraff – DeGraff earned the Newcomer Award, given to a wrestler competing in his first season with the Warriors. He wrestled at the highest level while exemplifying the attributes most appreciated by the coaches – being coachable, working hard, and being a great teammate.
  • Lucas Howes – Howes received the Coaches’ Award, given to the wrestler who the coaches most enjoy coaching because he is easy to work with and a joy to have on the team.
  • Zachary Schrader – Schrader was named Most Valuable Player. This is the most coveted award a team member can earn, marking him as the most outstanding player of the season.
  • Jonathan Zhang – Zhang received the Most Improved Award, given to the wrestler who has improved tremendously throughout the season. It recognizes his hard work and commitment to self-improvement and the sport.

“It is easy for young athletes to think solely about their own performance,” said Milic. “Our athletes at Army-Navy realize that being part of a team requires thinking about and respecting one’s teammates. This respect carries beyond the mat. Respect carries into the classroom and social settings. It was with grade pride that we honor our Warrior Wrestlers.”
