Cadets Participate in Model UN Conference

University of San Diego Model UN ConferenceCadets recently participated in the Model United Nations conference at the University of San Diego’s Joan Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.

The conference gave Cadets the opportunity to serve as representatives from nations throughout the world.

Participants included:

  • Raj Kittusamy and Eric Moraly, representing Iraq
  • Junyao Li and Connor Patton, representing Hungary
  • Jake Horwitz and Licheng Zhou, representing Bulgaria

Each prepared a speech about the South China Sea and Syrian refugee crisis, presented it to the conference, then worked with students representing other countries to develop and amend proposals for peace.

It was a great opportunity for Cadets to participate in hands-on education on international relations, while interacting with students and leaders from throughout the U.S.

Special thanks to the Rotary Club of Carlsbad for sponsoring the Cadets’ travel to the conference, and to Model UN advisors, Ethan Segovia and James Veltri.
