The Warriors played their first playoff game at home on Tuesday against the San Diego Jewish Academy. The Warriors had played them twice before this season and had split victories with them.
Noah Brown started and held the Jewish Academy scoreless through 5 innings. James DeLucia was brought in to relieve Noah in the 6th. In the bottom half of the 6th, the Warriors scored a run to tie the score at 2-2. The Jewish Academy then scored a run in the 7th to go ahead 3-2.
The Warriors would not quit and with two outs, a man on second, and two strikes on Colin Sutherland, Colin hit a towering fly ball to left field that cleared the fence for a walk-off home run. Final score Warriors 4 the Jewish Academy 3.
Colin accounted for 3 of the runs and was the star of the game.
The victory advances the Warriors to the second round of the playoffs against second seeded Calipatria. The game is scheduled to be played Thursday at 6:00 at Calipatria. Although seeded second, Calipatria is the number one power ranked team in Division 5.
This brings the Warriors record to 12-9 for the season and keeps their hopes alive for a CIF championship.
