On April 21, the Warriors played yesterday against Gompers Academy a team that had beaten them five days earlier 2-0. Early miscues by the Warriors led to Gompers taking an early 6-2 lead. In the home half of the third, the Warriors staged their rally to take the lead. From the third inning on, the Warriors outscored Gompers 11-0 to win going away. The final score was 13-6, Warriors.
Starting and winning pitcher was Lucas Howes. In relief was Blake Howard who preserved the victory. Many of the Warriors got big hits that contributed to the victory. With the bases loaded, senior Chris Gonzales hit a double that cleared the bases and scored three runs.
The Warriors are now 7-7 overall and 1-2 in the Ocean League Conference. Their next game is on Thursday, April 23 at home against High Tech North County. Game time is 3:30.
