The Warriors recently traveled to San Diego Jewish Academy to face the Lions. The Warriors secured an early 2 run first inning lead which they held on to with outstanding pitching and fielding.
Senior Blake Howard started and gained the victory. Relieving him in the 7th was James DeLucia who preserved the victory. Making some outstanding defensive catches in right field wasNoah Brown. It was a true team effort with outstanding fielding and daring base running. Warriors won the game, 4-1.
For the second straight game, a run was taken away from the Warriors by the umpire when he felt Chris Gonzales had left third base early on a sacrifice fly ball to left field.
The Warriors now have a 9-8 overall record and are 2-3 in the Ocean League Conference. They travel next week to Barona on Wednesday, May 13, for a re-match with the league-leading Foothills Christian team. The Warriors have three games remaining in the regular season and hope to secure their first winning season in many years.
