The Warriors traveled to nearby San Dieguito Academy to play their second non-league match against the Mustangs. This time, the Warriors played much better and made a statement.
San Dieguito came out with a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and then the game became very interesting. The Warrior defense tightened up and played solid all the way through the second quarter and allowed only two goals before the half. The Warrior offense rattled off four goals thanks to Senior attackman Luke Wilson and Senior Mason Roth. The score at the half was 6-4, and the Mustangs were reeling.
Unfortunately, the third and fourth quarter did not shine bright for the Warriors and the game ended 15-5. Top performers for the Warriors were Reid Anderson with 17 saves in the cage and Senior rookie, Colby Gibbs, who had his breakout game on the midfield.
The Warriors begin Pacific league play against a tough Francis Parker School this Thursday evening at the new ANA stadium. Faceoff is at 6:30 PM.
