Dr. Eve Mayall
Dr. Eve Mayall is a long-term resident of San Diego County and currently resides in Encinitas, CA – just 15 minutes from campus. Eve was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia; she completed a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Perth and then moved to London in 1989 at the age of 21 to complete a PhD in Biochemistry. In 1993, Eve moved to San Diego for a position at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and has worked for over 25 years in the scientific and biotechnology community developing new therapies for various debilitating diseases. Eve is an athlete; she rowed in college at the national level, and has also enjoyed basketball, tennis, and running, rock climbing, mountaineering, and hiking over the years. She believes fully in the power of seeking and embracing challenge as a catalyst for personal and professional growth and even more so, as a way of experiencing life to its fullest!
Eve’s sons will be starting their second year at the Academy in the 2019-2020 school years; Alex will be in 10th Grade and Nicholas will be in 8th Grade. Eve and her husband Tim were drawn to ANA for a variety of reasons including its designation as a Gurian Institute Model School. Their experience of ANA thus far has confirmed their expectation that it would provide a supportive, structured environment that intentionally challenges their boys across all areas in which they need to develop as they head towards adulthood – self-leadership, community citizenship, academics, and athletics – therefore affording them a rich opportunity to continue growing into well-rounded young men. Eve is excited to offer her sons the combination of an excellent academic program, inclusive and challenging athletic pursuits, and a pride-filled, military approach to self-discipline and team work. Eve is looking forward to contribute to the ANA community as President of ANAPA.
