Lance Smith was born in Albuquerque, NM and has lived in San Diego since 2004. He earned a BA in Theatre with concentrations in Acting and Dramatic Writing from the University of New Mexico.
He is in his second year as ANA’s Writer-in-Residence, working with cadets on writing skills while developing outside projects. His first year yielded a stageplay, THE PRICE OF PEACE, with New Village Arts in Carlsbad. He also worked with ANA’s international cadets on the Cultural Exchange/Living Library project.
Mr. Smith teaches Drama One, both at the middle school and high school level at the Army and Navy Academy. He previously worked as a teaching artist at Lemon Grove school district, Canyon Crest Academy, Ramona High School, Lamb’s Players Theatre, Intrepid Theatre Company, Firespark! Theatre Festival at Brenau University, and Swordplay Fencing Studio in Burbank.
