Maj. Edison Guillermo
Major Ed Guillermo received his commission from US Military Academy at West Point in June 1976 as an Armor Officer. Like most officers, he has served in numerous military installations to include 3rd Armored Division in West Germany (at the time), 2nd Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas, Project Engineer at Kwangju Air Base in South Korea, Fort Ord, and Los Alamitos, both in California, and University of Nebraska. He has served many duty positions from Platoon Leader to Company Executive Officer. He served twice as Company Commander, Battalion, and Brigade Training Officer, and several Division Staff positions. After 20 years of military service, Major Guillermo retired to be an Army Junior ROTC Instructor in Anaheim High School District. 23 years of Army JROTC lead him to his second stint as the Senior Army Instructor at Army and Navy Academy. When asked why he came to Army and Navy Academy, his response is “I am having fun with different challenges and top of the line cadets.” His personal hobbies are pretending like he can golf, getting in shape via bicycling, and yes, learning to be a grandfather to a 1-year-old granddaughter; and the proverbial “Yes Dear” to a wife of 39 years.
