Mr. Rodriguez is a product of the National Teacher Corps of Chicago where his first experience as a teacher was teaching 5th graders in the South Side of Chicago. He attended St. Joseph’s College in Indiana where he earned his BA in Sociology and Psychology. He then attended DePaul University in Chicago where he earned his M.ED.

At 27 he was the youngest Dean at St. Josephs where he worked as a teacher and administrator. For his work at the college, he was named an “Outstanding Educator” in America by a national publication. While at St. Josephs he coached the men’s basketball team. His resume includes a stint as Director of Student Services at Ivy Tech College in Indiana and Dean of Student Services/Counseling at South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois. At one time he served as the Assistant to the Chief of Probation for the Cook County, Illinois Criminal System.

In Indiana he served as the Director of one of the state’s largest English as a Second Language Programs which was run through the East Chicago, Indiana School System.

In his storied career he was the starting guard on his high school Indiana State Basketball Championship team. In his senior year he was named an “All American” high school basketball player.

Before coming to the Academy he taught Business and English classes at Freeport High School in Illinois.

Today, he teaches Spanish classes and is involved with the basketball team, Language Club, and Interact Club.
