Army and Navy Academy Families

Dear Warrior Families,

I am writing to update you on several decisions regarding Army and Navy Academy’s response to the evolving COVID-19 situation. Our most recent decisions relate to the well-being of Cadets and employees, academics, and Academy-sponsored events.

Health and Safety
Based on the demographic dynamic of our Cadets, the uniqueness of a boarding school environment, and to protect our community and preserve our academic program, we have decided on a phased approach to the remainder of the second semester.

For the well-being of Cadets and employees, we will be operating the campus with only essential personnel until further notice.  Cadets are restricted from campus and must remain at home with family or guardians.  As this situation evolves, we will have a better idea of when in-person classes will resume.

Academic Program
Over the next few days, the faculty will be developing online instruction for remote teaching and learning modes as classes begin on a delayed schedule.  From March 16 – 20, Cadets will be on an extended break, which will allow faculty to receive training in remote teaching and learning options. We do not anticipate having the opportunity to make up this lost class time; therefore, teachers have been asked to modify their syllabi accordingly.

The first day of online classes will be Monday, March 23.  Details on accessing course content will be provided early next week.  Please allow us this time to prepare answers to any academic questions you may have.  It is imperative that all Cadets are checking their emails on a consistent basis, as this has been and will continue to be the main mode of communication. If your family is unable to accommodate a remote learning environment, please contact Malcolm Muter at

Academy Events
We have decided to postpone all events on campus.  This includes all external user groups, sporting events, Warrior Family Weekend, and the Distinguished Warrior Awards Dinner and Auction.  We will share rescheduling information as it pertains to specific events.

Moving Forward
International families who are experiencing challenges finding housing for your Cadet should communicate individual situations to MSgt Lionel Saulsberry at 760-547-5235.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and understanding during this transitional period. We will continue to monitor the latest information on COVID-19, and we will be in touch if new information causes us to modify these plans in any way.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Operations at 760-547-5228.

Major Events & Closed Weekends

We work closely with the Parents Association (ANAPA) and the Associated Student Body (ASB) to plan special events for our Families and Cadets.

ANA Parents Associations

Every Army and Navy Academy parent is automatically a member of the ANA Parents Associations (ANAPA) and we encourage all parents to be involved in their Cadet’s life here at the Academy through the many events ANAPA hosts throughout the year. The Association strives to provide key insights to the parent community and support the Cadets and the administration for various Academy funds and events.
