Rachel Rodriguez joined the Army and Navy Academy family in January 2017 with a diverse background in copywriting, editing, social media, and graphic design. She enjoys working at ANA because she is able to apply all the skills she has acquired in the creative industry towards her position while working with all the departments at the Academy. She is proud to work for a school that promotes discipline, responsibility, self-esteem, leadership, and respect in young men.
Rachel was born and raised in Los Angeles and found her way to San Diego in July 2012. She studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and minor in Education, and studied abroad in Siena, Italy during her senior year. Traveling all over Italy, Paris, London, Switzerland, and Barcelona during her study abroad was one of the best experiences of her life.
With a passion for writing since childhood, she decided to pursue a career in copywriting after graduation. She began by writing for a variety of companies in the Los Angeles area and has been published in a number of magazines and websites.
Upon moving to San Diego in 2012, Rachel worked as an infant and toddler teacher at a preschool for 3 and a half years and fell in love with the education system.
Aside from writing, Rachel’s other passion is singing and has enjoyed performing with various choirs and acapella groups at school, college, and church. She also enjoys arts and crafts, watching movies, reading, spending time with family, and getting lost in new cities.
